Peaceful Planet’s Dignity & Rights resources help people understand both the rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the principles of dignity, respect, responsibility, and participation that help make those rights real in everyday life.

Together, these resources support Peaceful Planet’s wider purpose: education that empowers, enhances, and activates individuals and communities to understand, protect, and implement their human rights. We believe that human rights are not only legal principles but practical tools that help people improve their lives, strengthen their communities, and contribute positively to society.

Our work includes educational resources for children, young people, adults, community groups, and organisations. We work with national agencies and institutions while also developing resources that support individuals and communities facing disadvantage, exclusion, or environmental challenges. Through workshops, publications, and community-based learning, we encourage people to develop the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to understand and influence the conditions that affect their lives.

Peaceful Planet also supports practical community research through initiatives such as the London Infrastructure Taskforce. Working alongside scientists, infrastructure specialists, and local residents, the Taskforce is investigating the impact of declining infrastructure and environmental conditions on public health and quality of life in central London. The aim is to help communities ask informed questions, gather reliable evidence, and contribute constructively to solutions that improve human wellbeing and dignity.

This approach is reflected in our developing Science for Citizens programme, which aims to help people understand the scientific, health, environmental, and social factors that influence individual and community wellbeing. By making knowledge more accessible, we seek to strengthen informed participation and responsible decision-making.

This section is currently being updated and reorganised. Some resources may be accessed through legacy pages while new versions are prepared.

Taken together, these programmes reflect Peaceful Planet’s commitment to combining human rights education, human dignity, scientific understanding, and community participation in ways that enable people to better understand and shape the world around them.

This page brings together our practical educational resources for children, young people, adults, communities, and organisations.

Translated Human Rights Materials

Following approximately 170 human rights workshops delivered in 2014–2015, mainly for Farsi-speaking participants, Peaceful Planet helped facilitate the translation of the “What Are Human Rights?” course into five Middle Eastern languages. These translated resources remain available through this website and continue to support learners, families, and community groups.

In addition, visitors can use the language selector at the top right of each page to access machine-translated versions of much of the Peaceful Planet website in a wider range of languages.
