Topic 2: Privacy and autonomy

Government manipulation of the thoughts and perceptions of populations has expanded hugely from the situation described in Adam Curtis’ BBC documentary, The Century of the Self, which is available on YouTube, a mini-series in four episodes.

Curtis describes how Freud’s nephew Edmund Bernays created the art of mass propaganda between the two world wars of the Twentieth Century, working for major corporations in America and also for Joseph Goebbels, Adolph Hitler’s chief propagandist. In the present era, overlapping directorships in major corporate sectors mean that Governments, which work closely with industry, can distract and direct attention to suit their own ends. Having a clear understanding of the Identity and Location Rights is essential for people to be able to control and direct their own lives and step outside the mass mind control that pervades our lives.

Cookies, tracking apps that locate your mobile phone, and live location apps are all potential threats to privacy and autonomy. Chipping humans would give government agencies enormous power and control over human life and activity.
